Thank you, Miss Andrews, for a great review of Dr. Kwasniewski's book. Many parishes, religious orders, and dioceses are engaging in all kinds of novel approaches and programs to renew parish life or the life of religious communities -- and especially to renew vocations. They are open to any and all novel approaches to accomplish this much-desired renewal, including the embracing of Protestant, megachurch-style worship and preaching. However, these efforts at renewal will all fail, because they are closed to the one and only real solution: returning to Sacred Tradition. This book draws out this fact beautifully and convincingly, at least for anyone who "has ears to hear." Thanks again for posting your review of this excellent book. God bless.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Father! I am honored! Thank you for being willing to speak the truth about the liturgical situation in the Church today. It is shameful to see how many priests are not, or how there are some who realize it but will willingly not see it and instead try a million other solutions in efforts that they will work instead of doing their true duty. Like you say, they always fail. In a way, I am glad, because it is just -- the faithful deserve to know the Truth. Thanks again for reading my newsletter!

Good review, Miss Andrews. Just one quibble: the sentence quoted at the very end is from the foreword, which was written not by Dr. Kwasniewski but by some former 'reform-of-the-reform'er whose name escapes me. 😉

Ah, yes, Father, I see that now. His name is Fr. Thomas Kocik. My bad -- I will edit the piece to include that part. Thank you for the correction!

I am not quite sure how I stumbled onto your site (one link leads to another...), so I will attribute it to the Holy Spirit!

As I read your wonderful article on the Response to Pope Francis' death, the words "in a better place" kept popping up! Really? And just HOW do you know that?! I actually have asked that question after funeral services and, with only a minor alteration of the words, the "answer" was always the same; to bring comfort to the family. I can only recall ONE time when the priest took the time to convey what is necessary to come forward to receive the Eucharist!

As a pre-Vatican II altar boy, I have been in more than just a couple of debates about how our Church has crumbled from what I knew it to be. The most telling one was with the instructor of a diocesan course on "The Foundations of Scripture" (used in deaconate formation) that I had enrolled in with the expectation of deepening my faith.

In an ironic way, it did - because it forced me back into Sacred Scripture to challenge some of the heretical things that were being taught (i.e., the Church condemns the notion of predestination!). Though I seriously doubt the Dr. Peter K.'s book would alter that instructor's thinking, I am looking forward to reading it to better educate myself - to defend why we attend the TLM.

Thank you for your review and all the wonderful work you do to spread the faith.

Pax
